Years ago I had a severe allergic reaction to standard hair color. [Welts all over my scalp that itched horribly for about a week and a half.] A few months ago, my beautician tried a skin test on me with some Aveda, and I didn't seem to have a problem. However, on the second application of the color, she changed the formula slightly and I did have some itchy areas and bumps. Now I am afraid to use it again. A physician once told me that I could go into anaphylactic shock from using hair color. I am desperate to find something that I can use, now that my roots are turning gray. Thanks, Chiara
