If you use a 5 vol with EcoColors Lightener, 90 % of the time the hair will lighten to a perfect shade without the need for toning. If you must use a toner, depending on the porosity of the hair, you may tone with no developer (color only on rinsed hair) or with a 5 volume. Watch it and shampoo after obtaining desired tone. Sometimes a color deposting shampoo or conditioner is necessary depending on how far off you are from your desired tone.
