My hair is high-contrast trendy colored all-over: dark mahogany-ish base, medium to light brown mid color, crown is light blonde (some golden, some ashy due to summer). I really want to get away from the toxic dyes and I don't care if that means going to my nautral color. Right now my roots are really obvious so it's go time. Also, a few months back my hair became really dry & frizzy at ends and I lost about half of my hair from the root (not a tragedy since I had 200% of normal amount to begin with, but don't want to lose any more either) and I am nervous about re-coloring with chemicals. Don't really know my natural color since it's changed over the ast year at roots. Looks like a dark blonde/light brown, probably ashen. Stylist told me previously not to use golden blondes becuase my skin tone is warm if that helps. To make my hair look presentable (I am a professional and work with the public), how can I a) attempt to re-create this look OR b) downplay the existing highlights and just try to get it all closer to my root color?
