The Peroxide in EcoColors Home Kits cannot dissolve hair. A stronger peroxide used with a bleaching product may have the ability to destroy the integrity of your hair shaft though. EcoColors Home Kits use a mild buffered peroxide with flax and castor oil formulated for gray coverage.Perhaps your hair had metallic deposits from a non pure henna? Metals are not compatible with permanent haircolor. We always recommend you do a strand test and an allergy test according to the kit directions before applying any new color to your entire head. Peroxide allergies are not common, but usually result in skin irritation if you are allergic to it.
