Mix equal parts color to developer. Saturate new growth/gray in a puddle of color and process for 45 minutes. If they have stubborn areas, do the double application technique. Apply to stubborn gray first, then on all other root/new growth area, and then go over the resistant area with a 2nd application of color i.e. temples, hairline, etc. Cap and heat the first 5 minutes (if the client isn't sensitive, you can heat up to 30 minutes). Leave the cap on while the roots process for the remaining time. Always use a diluted formula for porous or previously colored ends. Take remaining mixture, dilute it by half with distilled water, apply to previously colored or porous ends, and process for only the last 5 minutes of processing time. Heat should never be used for ends.
