Suggested Color: Dark Ash Brown and Black is the darkest brown possible in the kits. Black is not a true black, but a dark chocolate brown. Allergy and Strand Test: ALWAYS do a strand test (to determine the proper processing time for gray coverage, best proportions to mix, as well as to make sure it is your desired shade) and an allergy test according to the kit directions before applying any new color to your entire head. Allergies aren't to be taken lightly. Some allergies develop over time after repeated exposure so be sure to do an allergy test before every application. Just because EcoColors is p phenylenediamine (ppd) free, doesn't mean you won't react. There are other oxidative dyes present in nontoxic amounts that some individuals may be allergic to. Make sure to have a plan in place with your physician in case you do experience any kind of allergic symptom. How to apply: Mix equal parts color to developer and apply this full strength mixture to roots only if you have previously colored ends. Process the roots for 45 minutes with plastic cap and heat for the first 5 minutes with a blow dryer. How to color previously colored ends: ALWAYS apply a diluted formula on previously colored ends. Take the remaining full strength (equal parts color to developer) mixture, dilute it by half with distilled water, apply to your previously colored ends, and process for the last 5-10 minutes of your processing time. If your ends are porous, you always apply in a diluted formula to the ends. Root touch-up or saving color for future applications: Whatever color you do not mix with developer may be saved for the following month's application or stored for up to a year. Once you mix color and developer, you must use it immediately. EcoColors Haircolor Ingredients Haircolor: Water, dihydroxyethyl soyamine dioleate, aqua ammonia, denatured alcohol, oleic acid, linseed oil, castor oil, lecithin, lanolin, silk, ascorbyl palmitate vitamin C, rosemary oil, vitamin E, grapefruit seed extract, organic flower essences. May contain one or more of the following: 3 methyl-1-phenyl-2 pyrazolin-5-1; 4 aminophenol; 1 napthol; 3 aminophenol; 2 methyl-1,4-benzene diamine sulfate; 1,3 benzenediol; 2 methyl-5-hydroxyethyl aminophenol; 4 amino-2 hydroxytoluene. Developer: Water, hydrogen peroxide, jojoba oil, oleic acid, acrylic copolymer, castor oil, linseed oil, organic lemon grass essential oil.
