RE: Finding your correct tone

How do you know what tone you are so you know what color base would be correct??    >Every manufacturer may be different. Ecocolors is based on the level and tone system. Black is level one and white is level ten. a Medium brown is level 6.Then you have to take into consideration the natural undertones. some brunettes have lots of copper undertones, some have gold.    Do you go what color hightlights are present?? > this will give you an idea of natural undertones(the color your ends turn in the summer)    I have a lot of natural gold highlights but have been told by salon's that my hair is medium ash brown.    > You may have slight copper undertones when your hair lightens. I cannot say without ctually working with your hair.    My sister has a lot of natural red highlights & she wants to enhance them. When we put reddish brown or auburn on her, it almost comes out black.    >Ecocolors reddish brown and/or Ecocolors Warm auburn will NOT turn your hair black. ALWAYS do a strand test before applying any new color formulation to your entire head.    So if your naturally gold based, do you only stick with gold based colors, etc.?? > Not necessarily, it depends on what you want your outcome to be.
