The earlier message is correct in that improper application can result in dry hair. Full strength color should only be used on gray hair. Shampoos that are high in castille or detergents including sodium lauryl sulfate may remove the color and dry it out. shampoos with camomile or tea tree may also remove color more quickly.Since Ecocolors contains low "dye content" compared to some other brands, the color may appear to be more translucent andchoosing a shade slightly darker than you want with the color to be may be the answer if you have more than 50% gray.The best formulation for you may be mixing dark brown with reddish brown(equal parts) to achieve the color you are looking for.
